NINE P.M.S SIGNS EVERY LADY SHOULD KNOW!

Let me guess the very first question that will surface your mind: "What's the full meaning of P.M.S?" 

Not to worry I will squeeze out all the juicy knowledge in this topic for you. Just ensure you read through till the end. Once again welcome to your Favourite health talk. 

SO WHAT IS P.M.S?

 P.M.S stands for PRE-MENSTRUAL SYNDROME.

Ladies, we all know that time of the month that comes with some not-so-fun surprises , like at this time you just begin to notice some funny feelings and habits that you know on a normal day doesn't even exist but, all of a sudden your body begin to give you its own attitude.

Well, the guys might not understand fully but you will get a clue as we continue. For the guys, you may have noticed a time your female friends/acquaintance suddenly began to exhibit some act that got you wondering.

Pre-menstrual syndrome are actually certain feelings and signs all lady that menstruate have before, during or after their period.

So, for some men, you may have noticed a day that you probably hang out with a lady in a restaurant and you were both having a good moment of laughter and all of a suddenly she became sad and you ask her what it was, she said NOTHING, for like ten times, you kept asking her and she keeps saying NOTHING, then the next thing you will heard again is 'I want to go to my house'. Oh No (smiles). The lady on the order hand might not even know all that's happening to her. Hope you can relate to this now?  (Smiles).

There are actually other common signs that might indicate you're experiencing PMS as a lady, that you aren't even aware of. Those mood swings, bloating, and cravings might not just be a coincidence you know. So whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting to navigate the world of PMS, here are nine signs you should be aware of. Trust me, knowing what to expect can make a world of difference, so that you won't ruin any of your day!

THE NINE SIGNS OF P.M.S YOU SHOULD KNOW:

Please take to heart that, premenstrual syndrome, is a common condition that many women experience before their menstrual period, according to a research by Mayo Clinic 3 out of 4 women do experience this condition. That's quite high you know. It can cause a variety of physical, emotional, and psychological symptoms that can vary from woman to woman. While every woman's experience with PMS may be different, there are some common signs and symptoms to be aware of. 

Here Are Nine Pms Signs That Every Lady Should Know:

1. MOOD SWINGS: PMS can cause drastic changes in mood, leading to feelings of irritability (certain place, food, things suddenly begin to irritate you), sadness, or even anger. These mood swings can be intense and unpredictable.

2. FATIGUE: Many women experience fatigue and low energy levels during their PMS. This can make it challenging to complete daily tasks or engage in regular activities. Unnecessary laziness just starts you know.

3. BREAST TENDERNESS: Swollen or tender breasts are very common symptom of PMS. Some women may even experience breast pain or discomfort during this time. This can be similar for some pregnancy signs too. But so long you are justified that you didn't have any sexual intercourse with any man, the tender breast is very normal. Some ladies gets scared thinking it's cancer, I'll help draw the line next week Anticipate "BREAST CANCER".

 4. BLOATING: Bloating and water retention, leading to feelings of heaviness and discomfort in the abdomen. This bloating may be accompanied by weight gain or a swollen appearance.

5. HEADACHES: Headaches or migraines may occur during PMS. These headaches can range from mild to severe and may be accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea or sensitivity to light and sound even down to the drop of a pin.

6. FOOD CRAVINGS: Many women experience cravings for sweet or salty food. These cravings can be intense and difficult to resist, leading to overeating or unhealthy eating habits. Here you must exercise self control dear Queens, so you don't overeat and then get yourself into the trouble of constipation, bulimia and gluttony please.

7. ACNE BREAKOUTS: Hormonal changes during PMS can contribute to the development of acne breakouts. This is especially common in women who already have a history of acne. LIKE ME back then when I was a little teenager any site of acne I would be like oh no not again, pimples every month with different shades but right now, I'm confident in my looks.

8. SLEEP PROBLEMS: This can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep throughout the night. This can contribute to fatigue and irritability during the day.

9. ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION: PMS can worsen symptoms of anxiety and depression in some women. This can lead to increased feelings of sadness, worry, or panic during this time.  

These PMS signs are natural but it shouldn't get out of control leading to serious issues.

You need to pay close attention to your health/body as a lady and give it the right attention.

Oh no, did I forget to mention CRAMPS! This is like the chief sign for ladies. Cramps varies for women and at different age. Cramp might be severe or mild, kia I have seen different shades of cramp as a nurse especially during my Clinicals I celebrate all ladies all over the world who do have cramps. Note: If the cramp seems very obvious visit a medical doctor ASAP.

  • Eat A Healthy Diet.
  • Engage Yourself In Regular Exercise.
  • Practice Stress Management Techniques.
  • Ensure You Get Adequate Sleep.
  • Apply Heat To Your Lower Abdomen.
  • For Cramps Get Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers.
  • Talk To Your Health Care Provider If Symptoms Should Persists Constantly.
Remember, every woman's experience with PMS is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. It's important to listen to your body, prioritize self-care, and seek professional help if needed to find the most effective strategies for managing your PMS symptoms.
